Important Update: Prayer Vigil Tonight 7:30PM

Tonight @ 7:30PM (January 15) Grassroots Church and Redwood Park will be sponsoring a prayer vigil in support of Haiti.

We will sing, pray, and learn more about the crisis. A Compassion International rep will be sharing as well.

Understandably this has been put together on very short notice so please spread the word!

Donations to the Haitian Relief efforts of Compassion International and World Vision will be accepted.

News Release: Grassroots Church Re-opening Bible School in 2010

With much excitement Grassroots Church announced this week that they will be re-opening their adult theological training program in the Fall of 2010.  Details will be made known on this site (grassrootschurch.ca) as they become available.  The program will take students through entire Bible among other studies and training.  Stay tuned for more news.

Next Prayer Matters Sunday January 17, 2010; 6:30PM

Once a month the Grassroots Church family is invited out to pray together in the Lounge.  Why?  Because prayer matters and there are matters the need prayer in our church family and beyond.

This month’s meeting is on Sunday January 17 @ 6:30PM.

Entering Into the Advent of Our Lord

This Christmas Eve we look forward to remembering the coming of Jesus Christ through celebrating the themes of Hope, Love, Joy, & Peace culminating in Christ.  Together we’ll sing, listen to readings from the Bible, witness the lighting of all of the Advent candles, and take in a down-to-earth message about the meaning of Christmas.  The service will wrap up around 7:30PM.  Afterwards there will be some goodies and an opportunity to pass on season’s greetings to one another.

This Sunday is a special one.  We’ll be enjoying a message given by the late Keith Price video recorded back in October of 1999. Copies of his book, ‘Thirsting After God’ will be available for purchase for $25.  We have limited amounts, and copies of the book are rare, so make sure you get one before all the selfish people do.  The rest of the 9 sessions from the conference will be posted Sunday October 18, 2009.  Enjoy.

N.T. (Tom) Wright, and his book ‘Simply Christian’, has been one of many influences in the development of the heart and soul of Grassroots Church. Whether you are just starting out in growing your faith or you have been a Christian as long as you can remember, this is a group for you! Our own Tim Brown will be your guide, as each week a concise DVD presentation of N.T. Wright is viewed and discussed as we work through the content of the book ‘Simply Christian’.  Course fee is $10 which includes a meaty participants guide.  Copies of the book Simply Christian can be purchased for $25.
