Do you find reading/studying the Bible on your own difficult and sometimes even pointless? Have no fear! This course will set you up with the basic knowhow to get deeper into the Scriptures for the rest of your life!
4 Tuesday nights in a row:
Tuesday September 21 6:45PM – 9:00PM (Two 1 hour sessions)
Tuesday September 28 6:45PM – 9:00PM (Two 1 hour sessions)
Tuesday October 5 6:45PM – 9:00PM (Two 1 hour sessions)
Tuesday October 12 6:45PM – 9:00PM (Two 1 hour sessions)
Doors open @ 6:30PM each evening.
What to bring: A Bible, a binder, paper/notebook, and writing utensils.
Cost: $20 entire course

This Sunday we are starting a new message series entitled, “Will the real Jesus please stand up?” We expect the weekly messages to be very relevant to our lives as followers of Jesus in the real world that He loves so much. A midweek student group (ages 17-22) will be beginning soon as well. Stay tuned for details!

Posted: August 18th, 2010 | Author: Chris Pacholczak | Filed under: Community, Events | No Comments »It is with sadness and thanksgiving for a life well lived, that we announce the peaceful passing to her heavenly home of Catherine (Cathy) Lawrence on Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was born in Morden, Manitoba on December 14, 1925. She attended teacher’s college in Winnipeg and taught in Manitoba, Kenora, and Thunder Bay before her retirement in June 1985. She had a keen sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling. She fulfilled a life long dream by taking a trip to the Ukraine in 2009 with her niece Pearl. She was active in her church; volunteered at the 55+ library; Telephone Assurance Program; Friendly Visiting; and participated in the Tai chi program. She is survived by her son John and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob in 1986. Following cremation, a celebration of Cathy’s life will be held at Grass Roots Church at 1250 Balmoral Street on Thursday August 19th. at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations can be made to The Thunder Bay Regional Hospital or the charity of your choice.

Skilled and unskilled volunteers welcome! We’ll be working on numerous tasks from painting and plumbing, to changing light bulbs!
Complimentary lunch will be provided along with beverages and snacks throughout the day.
Wear clothes you can get dirty and a pair of work gloves for good measure.
This is a great way to get to know folks a little better too!
Drop in for as long as you can from 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
